I'm back on my Quest through the levels sous-92 and have reached the dizzy heights of Step 5 - namely the Northern Football League Division One.
And as an extra bonus for me, my daughter has wonderfully expressed an interest in coming along whenever possible... to keep me company, give her verdict on the quality of hot chocolates, and generally add to the hotch-potch of observations and curios.
A note for the purists.... this season kind of got an early start thanks to the FA Vase exploits of West Auckland Town and Hebburn Town, proudly flying the flag for the Northern League. I popped over to Hebburn a couple of weeks ago, and I'm including that trip here under Step 5 because it just feels appropriate. And it's my rules!
The league matches continue tomorrow and my daughter and I will make our way over to Seaham to get things rolling.
So, what are we waiting for? Let's get cracking!
