Today's weather: rain and rain, with occasional breaks then more rain! Overcast, mild, breezy.

The FA Cup starts today. Visitors 1874 Northwich are a Step 5 side, from North West Counties Premier Division; whilst hosts Clitheroe are a Step 4 side.

The entrance to Shawbridge is tucked behind a row of houses on the main Pendle Road, opposite Lidl.

There's a massive slope to the playing surface!

The long opposite-side terrace is split into two sections, with the base of the floodlight in-between.

The teams are led out today by the Town Crier; it's a big weekend in Clitheroe, with the food festival on too. The weather really isn't helping either!


Final score: 1-2. A Cup upset?

As we exit, "Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life" plays us all out. The dreary weather makes it seem doubly appropriate; but we happily whistle the tune as we head back to our warm car.
