The new-look blog format

I've been pondering if and how to refresh the look-and-feel of the Quest blog.

Originally, it was a simple list of facts and a few photos. Then it gradually became a canvas for more  narrative, with descriptions of pissoirs and ramshackle stands. Then I got more into the game reporting, trying to avoid namechecking players like a newspaper article but at least reflecting the action on the pitch.

In the original spirit of the Quest, I've decided to revert to the fact-gathering. This is in part because I spend too much time gathering notes on the action rather than just being entertained by it, and partly because I keep redrafting the narratives too much and it becomes an occasional victim of writer's block.
So, as we embark on a new league from Step 4 - ie the Northern Premier League - it seems a good opportunity to rethink the format again.

I'll also redouble my efforts to broadcast the site, notably by resuming the social media presence that I have left to go stale in recent months.

I hope this new reboot will do the job for you, and if it's not working for me then I'll reserve the right to keep on tweaking. Enjoy!
