NORVENMUNKI's COMMENTS

Today's weather:
dry (following overnight rain), chilly, breezy

NorvenMunki's Diary...

On arrival, we're welcomed by the friendly car park attendant, who points out a parking space in the corner.

There are 2 turnstiles for busy games, but today just one in use.

It's a pretty blustery day, and the hillside location is very exposed. Good job we have hats, scarves and gloves.

The long shed along the northern edge is the only cover, with standing at the clubhouse end and two rows of seats further along.
There's no cover at all on the east, south and west sides.

The PA man is very professional and welcoming, his good-quality delivery style and patter is excellent.
The music playlist is clear and caters for all tastes, as apparently they asked on Twitter what songs to play. Examples include The Pogues' rendition of "Dirty Old Town", some Echo & The Bunnymen, Muse, Herman's Hermits...!

There's an electricity pylon in the lower outfield, which seems close enough to be an invitation for a heavy hoofed clearance.

The camera gantry looks precarious...

...but is in use, even in this dodgy weather!

I pop into the clubhouse "Tea Bar" just before half-time for the customary hot chocolate, which is excellent by the way.

"Jimmy's Bar" is popular, lots of chatty atmosphere and the TV is playing to itself.

A great little gem, up on the hill. Search it out and you're in for a treat.
